  Urgent Feedback Required

What have they been doing?

The Driffield Partnership have been asking for your views on
Driffield's future in general (the issue of the Cattle Market
Development oddly not included) on behalf of The
East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

Two public exhibitions have been held at the Town Council offices.
A printed questionnaire was circulated until January 27th 2008
and was available online at East Riding of Yorkshire
Council’s website until March 28th.

The results from the printed questionnaire were collated and
presented to the Driffield Partnership AGM on the 6th Feb. The
web consultation will be added in for the final report.

But who are the Driffield Partnership?

Driffield Partnership was established about a year ago by the
East Riding of Yorkshire Council, who also partly fund the
group alongside Yorkshire Forward.

The first available minutes are from a meeting on 7th June 2007.

The ERYC remain the lead partner and are accountable
for the actions of the Driffield Partnership.

In some of the publicity for the current consultation the group have
been refering to themselves as the Driffield Renaissance Partnership,
which may have caused some initial confusion as to who they were.
The "Renaissance" tag comes from the fact that the Partnership is
one of many similar groups, also created by the ERYC, all
of which operate under the guiding principles of a Partnership
Agreement - a list of rules which govern how the partnership
will operate (it's 35 pages long but can be made available
on request from the renaissance co-ordinator, Helen Jackson*).

All the Partnerships are coordinated by the Market Town Renaissance
Team within Economic Development at ERYC.

Each town's priorities are decided locally, based on evidence,
community consultation and local and regional policies.

The board is made up of organisations that share the aims of the
partnership. The structure of the current "shadow" board (a term used
to refer to the board members prior to their formal installation at the
AGM) is available in the downloads section on the left of this page.

The organisations each decide who will represent them and all
board members have an equal say on decisions.

All meetings are open.

What happens to the information gathered?

Authority to implement findings go through the usual channels.

Large schemes that need planning will go through normal planning,
things that need Town Council approval go to their meetings etc.

The renaissance plan will be circulated for comment both
locally and within ERYC, town and parishes.

The elected member of the Town Council and ERYC will decide
whether to accept its recommendations.

The information will be used to create a report called the "Base-Line Assessment" which collates relevant local and regional policy,
social, economic and environmental evidence on Driffield.

This will be quite an invloved document when published but
Helen Jackson has very kindly supplied an executive
summary which you can download here.

*Helen is currently in residence at the Driffield Town Council offices
and can be contacted on (01377) 200529 or by email helen.jackson@eastriding.gov.uk.
